“It’s  the fear that you have of losing one of the good things that makes you not go for the other.”

“To me it comes from the feeling that it will get taken away, like if I’m too happy someone’s gonna find out when it’s gonna evaporate, like I genuinely have that underlying fear, and it’s something that I have to work on all the time.”

“We try to do all of these things to pat us for the future to try to keep us from feeling too much pain later, and we’re so focused on avoiding pain that we don’t even know how to enjoy the pleasure right in front of us.”

“We think we’re helping ourselves, but really all we’re doing is robbing ourselves of the pleasure and the joy that is already available to us right now, in front of our own faces right because we’re so focused on when it goes bad.”
